I wasn't calling you a pussy, Mark, I know you're not giving up on camping. And probably once that lot is over their dehydration and sun burns they'll realize they're talking nonsense. For those of you who didn't get showers, they open at 6am and there was not really a line until 8am. Quite a few of us got up at 6 or 7, took a shower, then went back to sleep for a while. Some of them are also open until 1:45AM (though I usually have trouble finding them) so after the festival is an option - I did that in 07 but felt like it was too chilly this year.

It was close enough to walk to and from the festival (2 miles max). Mikey, send me your bookface if you got one. We had some issues with this too. I think basically, camp needs to get set up before anyone consumes their substance of choice. Next year, we're going to try to get a lot more people to come at 10AM Thursday so that we can get everything together early in the day. Haha, so true.
After arriving at the PAW site 4pm, it was a race to get my tent up and sleeping arrangements straight so I could start drinking. After that I tried helping other PAWers set canopies and tents up but my attention to detail and attention span was severely hindered. It was hilarious, they were probably about in their mid 30's. When feather left for the airport she told us nobody could leave until she got back.
In our case she was right because she had ryan's keys. Fortunately we had company while some people were stuck at lost & found. We cowered in the only shade that was left. And we found out the shaved ice guy hadn't closed down yet.

How the campsite decorations and partying would one day overtake the festival to the point that you came for the camping and the festival was a by product.
Then they would have to have overflow camping for all the people who can't get into camping. Then there would be a PAW Overflow camping group.
And so and so forth. How much is your hostel? How long are you staying? I have never been to Chicago. I wouldn't mind staying a day or two extra and exploring the city. The hostel is between $35-40 per night. And it's walking distance from Grant Park.
Jeff (boarderwoozel) posted about it and I booked a bed that day. I'm flying into Chicago on Thursday night and I'm leaving on Monday. Not sure if I'll have much time to check out the city other than Thursday night because I'm leaving very early on Monday morning since I have to make it back to work the last half of the day. It's 40/night. Tommy and I called and were able to make reservations about 4 weeks ago even though their online system said they weren't taking any more for the weekend Lolla.
If you're on the fence you can reserve a bed by giving them a card # without charge so long as you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. For staying in the city on the cheap, it's the way to go. Just look at that lineup, stacked much? Plus Tool, The Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Jane's, Kings Of Leon and some killer band plus a stacked under card and more EDM this year. Anyway, bank it!

That's her home turf so I would assume she has lot's of tips for Ch-town. Not sure which is closest, I think Midway and O'Hare are pretty similar distance wise but serve different airlines. Last year I flew Southwest into Midway. I'm pretty sure they're both connected to the city and area's rail system so you can get dropped off three blocks from the hostel for $5 in 30 min.(Midway is for sure). The train public transit is really thorough and saves a ton of money.
